Material knowledge, construction experience and computed simulations are important preconditions for the development of structural parts. However these preconditions are not enough to give a definite forecast of function and use suitability of the structural parts. Therefore and also for time and cost reasons it is recommendable to perform a prototype trial already in the development stage. The manufacturing of prototypes makes the reliable control of the part construction possible and permits if necessary still small corrections, before the tools for the quantity production are established.
