Light simulation and light conductor development



In the daily routine we increasingly come across lighting effects (illuminated switches, complete device visors, displays, ...).

Most often the additional functionality in these cases is interactive with regard to the other demands on the development. Therefore it is useful to take the illumination into consideration in an early development phase.

Based on the illumination ideas of our customers we develop complete illumination concepts with light sources, optics, light conductors and reflectors. While doing so, we examine with which means and cost the desired light effects can be realized within the construction space (number of LEDs, light conductor design, ...). The basic concepts already consider the light characteristics of the components (light conduction, refraction, loss/absorption). Together with the light sources from extensive libraries a calculation model is created and then tested and optimised in several steps by means of light simulation. Following this a verification of the results on prototypes takes place as a rule.
